Hill Machinery (Hill Machinery Company) enjoys a long and rich history dating back to 1911 and has progressively grown over the years to meet the demands of the capital equipment industry. Today, the company is a worldwide manufacturer of automation machines and machine tools, specializing in the plastic assembly industry. Hill Machinery provides sound, robust, and innovatively designed systems to an extended installation base.
Hill Machinery provides in-house engineering and design capabilities with the resources required to meet today’s market demands. The state-of-the-art production facility provide the technology and manpower required to tackle any project; no matter how large or small. Hill Machinery’s experienced personnel provide the wisdom and knowledge to effectively support the automotive secondary industry.

Hill Machinery’s latest automated assembly line for door panels utilizes an under/over conveyor system to transfer the door and integration of various robots to sequence the assemblies and support ILVS assembly. The next door to be processed initiates the fixture robot to retrieve the fixture and place it on the conveyor. The returning fixture is gathered and routed to the storage location. The door panel is pre-assembled by the first operator, and vision systems validate the loaded components. The conveyance system moves the door panel to each station where robots support repetitive operations (screwdriving, ultrasonic staking, clip installation, and more.) A second operator loads ancillary content prior to final assembly inspection/packaging. A final robot is integrated to extract the completed assembly and presents it to multiple cameras to perform visual inspection.

The approved assembly is placed on an exit conveyor to an awaiting operator for loading into the awaiting finished good carts. These assembly line designs support current and future programs with flexibility in mind. Conveyance fixtures and tool updates, along with robot programs, quickly and effectively support engineering updates, mid-cycle enhancements, and new assembly programs while allowing current programs to shift to service.
